So the sneakers still had the tag on them and you've worn them since. Why do you imagine that changes anything?

So how did you forget to pay when you seen your old flip flops in the cart?

I see that you are a senior member and don't understand why you are writing to me in an angry manner. I believe that everyone deserves respect.

There was a jacket and a few other things that I didn't not want left in the cart.

Sweetheart, if you're trying on your innocence act here in the hopes that you can refine it enough to convince the attorney that you didn't steal anything, it's going to take a lot more work. Every post you make just digs the hole deeper. At least you're smart enough not to admit on a public board that you stole the shoes, but you and I and everyone else here knows that YOU STOLE THOSE SHOES. The minute you walked out of the shoe department with them on your feet and not in the basket, you stole them. And I do not believe for one single minute that you did not do so deliberately. I don't care what was in the basket - when you put YOUR OWN SHOES in the basket and not the ones you intended to buy, that was a theft.

Respect is something you earn. I don't respect thieves.

Abbey33;575755] I believe that everyone deserves respect.
I believe a person earns respect and attempting to take from a store without paying surely earns no respect.

    that makes no sense.

    what I see is:

you put on the shoes and walked around the store. You walked up to the check out counter and set everything from your cart on the belt. Somehow you didn't notice your old shoes were setting in the cart which would have clued you to the fact you had on the new shoes.

Was there a box associated with the shoes? Since they were Dr. Scholl's, there was a box. What did you do with the box you got them from?

Thank you for showing me how most people would look at this and I appreciate your time. I have to go and pick up some luggage that I left behind at the airport because I was not paying attention to everything when leaving the airport last night. As you can see I don't pay attention to important things sometimes. You helped me see that no matter what the truth is it does not make a difference because unless someone knows you they won't understand that there are some people out there that make mistakes. I am glad that the police officer could see it the truth. And decided that he did not want to write a report against me.

I just love how you ignore the questions posed. That alone is enough to call the veracity of your statements into question. Hope you enjoy those $200+ shoes.

I guess if I was paying you you would be nicer but because you are on line giving free advice it's upsetting you. I suppose it must stink to give away what you can't make money doing . Have a great night thanks again for your free advice

Sorry the members pointed out all the fallacies in your argument instead of giving you the out you were hoping for instead. Do a better job next time.

Honey, the people here are VOLUNTEERS.

We do not have to be here. We do not have to answer questions.
We do so because we like to help others, or atleast try to.

Now...keep that attitude for court. Because the store CAN still file criminal charges. In your case....I sincerely hope they do.
