    Default Can Alimony Be Raised

My question involves a marriage in the state of: Virginia
My husband pays his ex-wife $600 a month in alimony on top of $900 a month child support. She is always threatening him to take him back to court. If she does, would alimony possibly go up? Could it be cut out? She works.

Default Re: Can Alimony Be Raised

If she does, would alimony possibly go up?.
That would depend on the original divorce decree. If there is a cost of living allowance increase clause, or an escalator clause (by which the former spouse is automatically entitled to an increase if the paying spouse's wages increase), it could.

Could it be cut out? She works.
If she has had a change in circumstances such that she is earning considerably more than when the alimony was awarded, it's possible.
