My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York/ New Jersey
I was transferred from NYC probation to nj (my home state) the one day I was in NYC the Probation officer told me I could be discharged from my 5 year sentence in 3 years. My probation officer is NJ keeps telling me that if I continue to a model probationer that they will cut my time in half (2 1/2 years). I'm a bit confused I know NY and NJ laws differ so it may be half your time in NJ but 60% of you time in NY and although im reporting in NJ im still technically under the supervision of NY. Can anybody verify which one it is in my situation 2 1/2 years or 3 years.
