    Default Emancipation in Oklahoma

I live in Oklahoma. I am 17 years old and 5 months pregnant. I also have my own job. When I applied for medicaid, I was turned down because my parents make too much money. Becaues of this, I am paying my doctor's bills myself which are several hundred dollars every month. I have been told by several people that in order to qualify for medicaid, I must move out. However, when I tried to move out, I was told that I cannot get a house because I am under the age of 18. I was told that my mom cannot sign the papers saying that it is okay for me to get a house either because I am under the age of 18. I was told that I must go to the court and get papers saying that I could sign for myself. After going to the courthouse, I found out that it was emancipation papers. There I was told that I would have to have a lawyer present with me when I go to court, even though my mom would be there agreeing to emancipate me. They gave me the phone number of a free lawyer to call. After calling this number, I found out that I could only talk to a lawyer at the company on Thursdays between 9 and 11. On Thursdays, between 9 and 11.... I am at school, so I can't call. So all in all, I need to know around what price I should expect to pay a lawyer for emancipation, and also, how long it would take to be finalized if my mother agrees to it.

Have your mother write a note to the school explaining that they need to permit you to use the phone during the designated period of time, perhaps during a break between classes.

Why are you not covered under your parents' insurance?

My parents' insurance does not cover dependent pregnancy.
