Welfare Fraud in Florida

My question involves child support in the State of: Florida

My ex sister in law took off with my niece and nephew in 96, she hid for 15 years with the children. Recently the kids were found and we are now reunited. My question is . my ex sister in law claimed my brother was dead to the whomever governs the child support and they never verified that he was deceased. ( There was never an order for support for the kids and she was granted a divorce based on 7 years abandonment ) Who and how does my brother go about notifying the child support agency that he is indeed "not dead" and that his ex was getting support from the state in a fraudulent manner.

My question would be how old are the children now? And is the CSE now coming after your brother for back support? If not, then is the only reason to tell on mom for fraud? Not sure of motive.

Realizing, of course, that regardless of what the state may or may not do with HER, that CSE, upon learning of his existence, will then go after him for support, which may include arrears to reimburse the taxpayers that have been meeting what would have been at least partially HIS obligation to the kids, for all these years.

He is free to contact whatever government agencies provided welfare benefits and inform them that he was, in fact, alive. Whether or not they choose to take action against her for the misrepresentation will be up to them.

@ e2Mich They are currently coming after him, the children are 17 (will be 18 in mar) and 16.

Looks like that's what is happening, yeap.

And really, it's going to be difficult proving that Mom didn't actually truly believe that Dad was dead.
