    Default What Constitutes "Variable" Expenses

My question involves child support in the State of: Wisconsin

Actually I am curious about definitions for "variables". My ex requests shared payments for school lunch, school supplies, school clothes, etc. Most of this I understand, but when she starts asking for sharing friends gifts, my daughters "homecoming" meal or a "headband for homecoming" I start6 to wonder where the line is drawn.

Does your child support order mention 'variables'?

Please type out your child support order, absent names. This will be the easiest way to give you clear guidance. Many of the things you mentioned should be covered under regular support.

It says, basically, school related expenses. I am not sure of the exact wording because i don't have the document with me. I will double check.

"Variable costs" are those reasonable costs above basic support costs incurred by or on behalf of a child, and include the cost of child care, tuition, a child’s special needs, and other activities that involve substantial cost. [Sec. DWD 40.02 (29), Wis. Adm. Code.]
