My question involves criminal law for the state of: New Mexico/ Will be tranfering probation to Texas
My cousin has been on probation for about some years & house arrest for 7 months, over the course of this time he has been good, stayed out of trouble, & reported weekly. However within the past month alone he has had to call the police due to people shooting at his home, burglarizing & kidnapping his brother, and breaking into his home burglarizing the place then beating him unconsious. At that point he asked if his house arrest address could be changed to a hotel in order to keep him safe, seeing as how his residence was a target. Yet, the authorities only allowed him to stay in a hotel to be safe for two days after just one of the break ins. He wants to move here with the family, he has now made enemies of his former associations and now has been a target of his former gang members. His house arrest finally ended recently and he was in so much fear he asked his p.o if it could be extended until he moves away because he doesn't want to be bothered by his former gang members who have kept their distance knowing he had an ankle bracelet, but his p.o said no. His p.o has been in the "process" of transferring him to this state for awhile, and now that he is off house arrest how long should this take?, can it be expedited because his life is in danger?
I'm just so worried because he is on the right path now and it seems like he just can not seem to get out of there fast enough
