Marriage on an Expired Visa

My question involves marriage law for the State of: Florida and Ohio

I'm in a long distance relationship, my boyfriend was here on an F1 visa for school but it has now expired. We want to get married but do not live in the same state. His passport and I.D. are still valid although his visa is not. Will we still be able to apply for a marriage license? We fear that should he travel back to his country he won't be eligible for any other visa to return. Any suggestions, answers, or ideas?

There's nothing stopping you from actually getting married.

However, you might run into problems adjusting his status (I'm assuming that's your intent, yes?) afterwards.

Edited: I just read your other thread. Can you afford to sponsor his residency? Do you understand what that entails?
