I just recieved a letter in the mail today from the Michigan Unemployment Office. My previous employer was trying to fight my unemployment. At first they didn't fight it, and then I recieved two checks and then they fought it and disputed it saying that I signed a confession. My unemployment was cancelled and I was ordered to pay back my unemployment benefits. After sending in my letter of appeal, I recieved a letter back saying that the balance was paid and that my case was closed. I know I didn't pay back my benefits which means obviously my previous employer payed the state back my benefits that I was entitled to which leads me to believe that they have no case against me as I have been trying to say all along. If they have so much more proof against me besides a damn confession, why aren't they using it to fight my unemployment???? It makes no sense to me, only thing that makes sense is that they need to reconfigure they practices on handling things because I didn't do anything wrong and I'm being punished for it...

My best guess is that the employer (or their insurer) decided that it was easier and cheaper to pay the two months benefits instead of fighting over that money.

You are a real piece of work and worse yet you seem to think you did nothing wrong. YOU STOLE PROPERTY FROM CIRCUIT CITY AND SOLD IT ON EBAY! GET A CLUE, STEALING IS WRONG!!! I don't blame them for fighting the uneployment and hopefully they will press charges against you in the near future.

I don't ever recall ever admitting to stealing property from my employer and selling it on eBay because I did no such thing...please do not put words into my mouth.

You stated that you confessed to your employer that you stole the merchandise, but that you did so under pressure.

I don't need to put words in your mouth I'll just use your own post.

If the confession is all that they have, do you really think they have a strong case? The eBay account is just hersey because just because it was sold on my account and we happen to be missing it from the store, that is not proof beyond a reasonable doubt that I took it.

I was pressured into the confession and a few other things but I won't get into those. Pretty much what I asking is does it sound like they have a strong case if all they have is my confession and my eBay account or should I fight this.
You may have been *pressured* into confessing but they would of had to threaten me with death itself to get me to admit to something I didn't do.
