Public Intoxication Arrest

About a month ago i was arrested for public drunkenness. A few days before that i was brought home from downtown by a cop and I do not remember it. They decided no to arrest me that night and just make sure I make it home safe. A few days after i received a call from the police station asking me to come in. They arrested me for the previous incident a few days before. I was never breathalyzed. My court date is in two weeks and I don't know if they could do that. I am just seeking any information or input on my situation that anyone know. Thanks for your time

I am in Milledgeville Georgia. This is my first offense and I received pretrial probation. 12 months probation, integrity project, fines, and AA meetings for twelve weeks because they said only alcoholics get that drunk. It was my first and last time drinking tequila. I think this is harsh considering I know I'm not an alcoholic and have not drank since. Does the pretrial probation mean that is what I am going to get for sure on my court date? I am seriously considering getting a lawyer, what do you think?

If by "pretrial probation" you mean a deferred disposition, with a dismissal if you successfully complete probation, that seems like a good deal. Having to go to a dozen AA meetings? Small potatoes.

All it says is pretrial probation on the sheet of paper i received listing all of the fines. Does this mean there is a possibility that it could change on the court date? Also, it is not only 12 meetings, there are 3 per week for twelve weeks. Plus the integrity project every weekend.

How do you know it was harsh? You were to drunk to remember.
