Default Arrests and How Will They Affect Chances for Citizenship

    GC holder since 1967
Arrest at age 20 (1985) for petty theft (value of $3.25) community service for 40 hours plus small fine. Expunged the case one year later becuase I understood that the record would be hidden and future employers would not be able to see.

Felony arrest in 1987. I did not do the crime and won a lawsuit against the company that claimed felony committed by me. Case dismissed and record was expunged. No conviction or anything. I have the expungement records as well as copies of final settlement check.

Fast forward to today 20+ years have passed - married to US Citizen, one US citizen minor child, well employed with same company for 8 years, upstanding in community, no other arrests or infractions outside of traffic tickets (only speeding and no DUI etc).

Chances to be approved for citizenship in your opinion? Any other advice? No plans at all to hide anything from the items above.

    Thanks for your response.

If the 1987 events are as you describe, I would not expect them to be an issue. If the only other thing on your record is a petty offense from 1985, no problems since, I wouldn't expect that to prevent naturalization.
