    Default How Long After a Chapter 7 Can I File for a Chapter 13

    My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Michigan

    I converted a chapter 13 into a chapter 7 how long after this do I need to wait to file a chapter 13?

    But for the concept of a Chapter 20, not sure why you would need or want to file a 13 but . . .

    You can file a Chapter 13 the moment you obtain your Chapter 7 discharge, however, you will not be entitled to a Chapter 13 discharge. This is called a “Chapter 20" and is done for very specific reasons.

    If you need a Chapter 13 discharge in the future you must wait 4 years from the date you converted to the 7 to file the Chapter 13.
