Default Can a Landlord Tow Your Vehicle

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Massachusetts

Long term tennant in good standing No lease. Property manager has sent a letter to everyone that states our vehicles willl be towed if not moved when plow comes through. I have two vehicles and always move them when the plow decides to come through.

My concern is that I vacation in the winter and leave one car in my parking spot, can they tow my car when i am away from home?

    Thank you

Yes.... I have been in the towing industry for 10 yrs. A landlord can tow your vehicle whenever he wants as long as he or she has given due notice to the resident. Plowing is very expensive and done by contract, most companies that do plowing will not plow if there are vehicles in the way due to a list of reasons and the landlord has to pay even if they dont plow. Obviously your landlord has signed a contract to do plowing this winter and has been enlightened on what to do. This is very common and extremely professional for this to occur. If you have plans for the winter i suggest you figure something out. Towing is very expensive. I charge $125.00 for the initial tow and $50.00 a day for storage. If the vehicle isnt picked up within 21 days ,dmv will hand your title over to me. Fyi.... Towing is a civil matter and the police have absolutely no control over the issue. Take the notice very seriously and plan accordingly.

With proper notice as he has given, yes.
