My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: New Jersey
If your license is suspended in NJ for not paying surcharge, and everything is paid and taken care of. U r at ur home, someone drunk jumps in their car and hits ur parked car and runs away, after an argument and this includes swinging fist at a person. The other person calls police, gets a ticket for driving on suspended list. The vehicle was on private property, at the time of the accident was not in the vehicle. After the person hit the car, the other party did move the vehicle out of the way, avoiding further damage. Is the person whose parked car got hit guilty of driving on suspend list, for moving vehicle out of the way of the drunk hit and run crazed person? When police arrived they told the drunk person to get in car and leave, allowing her to call her insurance company for repairs to be completed on the other persons insurance. IS this all legal? Is this considered Police Harrasment? IS the person with the restored suspended license guilty of driving on suspended license, when the only time he even got in the car was to move it away of more damage. (The vehicle never left private property)
