Default Videotaping at Work Without Being Told

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: IL
I work for a food demo company that does demos in large warehouse store. my district manager came to our store video several employees without telling our supervisor or us that he was doing this. The district manager then took this video to their national training event and showed this video and made fun of us for our mistakes. never telling any of us about the tape. I know that the district manager then made copies of this video. I believe that Myself and the other didn't give. Consent because we were never told before about being taped.
    Please. Help

Technically, without anything else in place, this is illegal in Illinois. However, you'd better check that any agreements you signed when employed didn't give blanket consent for such recordings being made.

Assuming no notice of the recording, the question seems to be whether or not they took video with or without audio, surreptitious audio recording appearing to be the legal problem. 720 ILSC 5 / Art. 14.

You were in a public area. Your permission wasn't necessary in order for your employer to videotape you. As long as we're talking just video and no audio, nothing illegal occurred. Places where you can't be videotaped are those where an individual would have an expectation of privacy - the restroom, for example.

Sounds like your management acted unprofessionally with what they did with the video but they didn't break any laws.
