    Simple, police don't look for runaways 16 and older.

    Got that in writing somewhere? Cuz I've got the price of a month's rent that says you're wrong if that's supposed to be a blanket statement that applies in all situations.

    The law does not change because of what you're going through. It either is or is not legal for you to leave home without permission. It is not. The circumstances do not change the law. You could end up in juvenile hall if you persist in this. Trust me, no matter how bad you think your situation is now, you'll like that even less. Leaving a note will not change the legal ramifications of what you are doing and will not guarantee that you are not tracked down and brought home.
