Question Theft Charges Aginst a Minor

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Nebraska
Im 14 years old and the other day my friend and i walked into a gas station and we each stole a bottle of Robitussin. It was for him not me and he took both the bottles out of the box. The next day my dad got a call from the Police saying they had me on video shoplifting. I went and talked to him today but denied it even though i did do it. He gave me a citation and my cort date is November 17, the day before my birthday. When we got out to the car i told my dad i did do it. I called the police back to tell them the truth but he hasnt answered his phone yet. Would i still have to go to court even if i confessed? This was my first offence. What are the charges i could get?

Yes, you still have to go to court.

You have already told us that you're charged with stealing the Robitussin. I guess your lying to the police could theoretically trigger additional charges, but I doubt that will happen.
