Default Looking for a Job in Us While in Us on B2 Status

    Hello,
My question is very simple, I've been looking for a job in US while I was in my home country. I was invited over by my citizen friend who am I living with temporarily on B2 Visa. I am not stopping my job search, I am still speaking to recruiters and giving them my resume and actually using my friend's phone to talk to them and listed his address as my temporary address.

I am not lying to potential employers and recruiters, I am telling them that I am not authorized to work and will need sponsorship or at least h1 visa filed.

Is there anything wrong in this ? what and how ?

    Thanks,
    Muji

You may not "live" in the US on a B2 visa. Using his address as yours is inappropriate. If he is allowing you to stay in a rental property, you are not on the lease, and it is not your address. Many landlords have lease clauses that prohibit long term "visitors" or limitations on the number of occupants in a residence. Your friend should be complying with his lease or home owners association restrictions if they exist.

There is no reason for you to be in the US to conduct a job search. Use your actual home address and do not mislead your potential employers about your location.

If you find a job and a sponsor files for you, it is quite possible that you will be required to return to your home country for stamping in order to begin working; a change of status is not guaranteed. I hope you properly responded to the border entry officer about your reason for entering the US which certainly appears from your posting to look for work - not tourism.

I believe if you read the terms of your Visa, you are violating them.
