Default Should I Get My M1 Conviction Reduced to M4 if Possible

My question involves criminal records for the state of: OHIO

I have a M1 conviction for "Massaging without license." I maybe able to get the charge reduced to M4-disorderly conduct. Does disorderly conduct sound worse than "massaging without license?" I am not sure if I should waste my $.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

If you think it would be a waste of money, it's your criminal record, your money and your life. I guess the question of whether "massaging without license" sounds better than "disorderly conduct" depends upon whether the person reviewing the information might infer that your massage technique may have been non-therapeutic, happy endings and all that.

Disorderly conduct is a catch-all type charge that could be anything. "Massaging with a license" sounds like a euphemism for a prostitution/sex related crime. Which do you think sounds worse?

If you are worried about a background check in the future, a cursory one that finds disorderly conduct might be overlooked. An in-depth check will find out about the original charge anyway. You may be asked to explain the DC charge at some point.

It's your money, do what you feel is best for you.

This will be the first time encountering something like this. But come to think of it, you really need to have license in massaging. So, you can talk to your lawyer about this one. Don't say or post anything here in threads, cause it can use to accuse you more.
