Hi from MI.
There is a judgment to pay $5000 in attorney fees against a person who has no property and a minimal wage job (further "debtor").
Negotiation happened over the email.
Debtor tried to negotiate with creditor to pay $3000 over 90 days in a full settlement of $5000 or make monthly payments of $50 for 100 months. Either one in lieu of any other collection effort.
Creditor asked for $3000 immediately, and debtor agreed asking to enter a stipulation consent agreement about that in the court first. Creditor didn't reply.
Debtor followed up in 2 weeks - no response. Debtor then prepared the consent agreement and sent it to creditor asking if he is fine with entering it into the judgement. It was 3 weeks ago and still no response.
What's the best course of action for debtor? Please help!
Can debtor use an email agreement for $3000 settlement in the court and how?
P.S. Debtor has to also pay other bills and expenses including fees to own attorney. Yes, debtor would like to make a settlement in the amount of $3000 but unsure what's the best course of action.
