My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: New York. I received a ticket in New York City for going straight in a right-turn only lane. Long story short, I was coming right out of a parking lot and it was near impossible to get over to the middle lane without causing massive gridlock. The cop was friendly and seemed reluctant to give me a ticket, but he did. It was a 1110A for about $130 and 2 points on my license.
The thing is, I have been going to dmv.ny.gov/eplead.htm for 2 weeks now, trying to punch in my ticket number, and it keeps saying no such ticket is on file. According to what their website says, the ticket I received is answerable online. Tomorrow is the date I am supposed to respond by, so I'm screwed. What do I do? Why would my ticket not show up in their database? I know I am typing it correctly. Is it possible the cop threw it out after seeing how polite I was even after he handed it to me? Is it possible it flew out the window? I don't want to simply cross my fingers and hope that's the situation, but according to the NY DMV website, there is no record of this ticket at all. If someone could help me figure out why, and what I should do, I'd greatly appreciate it!
