Default Changing Customers Tips As Pizza Delivery Driver

    Washington State

Got fired from job. Store is gathering evidence. Police most likely will get involved. Told them I didn't do it.

    Any advice besides the obvious?
What are the charges and consequences for this crime?
How will this affect me getting a new job? Is it okay to start applying right away to new businesses?

Life changing situation, planning on moving forward as respectably as I can.

    Thanks,
    Turbulence.

    thanks for your time jk

increased tips fraudulently for financial gain. (customer tips poorly, re-write over old tip on credit card receipts)

If you're convicted, you've likely said goodbye to any job involving financial transactions.

Please come back when you've actually been charged and tell us the amount you're charged with (money-wise) and the statute.

This is why I leave a CASH TIP and write CASH on the tip line. And always write my total afterward on the receipts.

JK, from what I assume....let's say he was given a bill at a restaurant. Customer wrote in a tip amount of $5.00. He changed it to $15.00 (I am assuming), then changed the total of the transaction. (Is this correct, turbulence?)

So let's see...you changed the amount left on peoples credit cards? That can be multiple charges against you, depending on how many customers notice the difference and report it.

I'm accused of 5; it's common for customers to change their tips themselves.

So you knowingly changed the charge receipt and falsified a charge.

The fact that the customers didn't notice you ripping them off means nothing to you.

What is the total dollar amount we are talking about?

This is a HUGE deal. All kinds of criminal charges come into play here depending upon HOW you did it and how much.

Multiple charges like this could be grouped and you could be charged with a felony.

I'm accused of doing what I wrote. Dollar amount I'm accused of isn't very much.

I agree this is a huge deal. Customers do mean something to me.
