Quote Quoting Mr. Knowitall
Is the bill for all services provided, or just for the second visit? I know my insurance would pay for a cleaning provided in a single visit - but not for a follow-up visit.
The bill was just for full mouth debribement. I had no idea what the bill was for so this is why I went to the dentist office to inquire about it. The dental office never once mentioned the word debribement to either one of us, all they called it was a cleaning and our insurance company pays 100% for cleaning. They also did this to our son in law only he hasn't received his bill yet. The "follow-up" cleaning is covered 100% only we were not told about any follow up cleaning until after they had done the first one.

And yes, I had read our policy and knew they covered teeth cleaning. Our dental office called it teeth cleaning, not debribement. Had they used the word "debribement", I would have asked them what "debribement" was and had them call our insurance company to see if it was a covered service or would have cancelled the appointments and called them on my own.

If we're obligated to pay for their deceitfulness, we'll pay. But I will call BC/BS and my husband employer to let them know what this dentist office did since my husbands employer pays half of our insurance premiums.
