Default Can I Move In With My Girlfriend

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Kansas

Although I am 18 and will graduate in 2012, my mother and grandmother have told me that I can not move in with my girlfriend after I graduate. I was told I had to be legally emancipated to be able to move out and I had to have a parents consent. Living at this house is depressing me and lowering my self-esteem to the point I attempted suicide, so I want to get out as soon as I graduate. Is what my family says true, and if it is how can I get emancipated without my parents consent? Please help

At the age of 18, you are already legally emancipated.

As soon as an individual turns 18 he or she legally becomes an adult and is automatically emancipated from such parental custody and control.

Back when I was in my late teens I remember how crazy my folks made me and how bad I wanted out of there house. In fact, after knowing some guy for only two months I told my parents I was marrying him and I hoped to see them at the wedding. Even though I was only 17 and they had to sign for me to get married. They could have stopped it, but it's hard to argue with a teenager. I wish they would have stopped the wedding. Now, after 15 plus years of growing up I would do anything to be close to them again. I look forward to the day that I get to move back in with them to take care of them.

Of course, the flip side of this coin is that once you move out, your parents have no legal obligation to contribute one thin dime to your support. You are totally on your own, and have the right to pay all your own expenses without any assistance from them.
