My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Texas
I am moving to Texas and I wish to be emancipated. I will be 17, what do I have to do to become emancipated?

Well, you would actually have to be a resident of Texas. You can't move there and immediately file.
Second, you would have to prove you can support both yourself and your baby without the aid of anyone or the state. Therefore, you would need a solid work history including showing how you paid for day care yourself or had a plan as to how day care would work.

The courts require a PROVEN track record of supporting yourself 100% - paying market rate rent, utilities, medical care, transportation costs, groceries, school expenses, and incidentals. All this while maintaining better than average grades in school, and the courts typically want to see that you've been doing this for at least a year.
Your petition wouldn't be heard until well after you turn 18.
