My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Pennsylvania
I recieved a collection order from A.R. Resources several months ago in the amount of 784.85 from a university I attended. I called the university, they verified that this debt was valid and that it was my only remaining debt for them. I began making payments through A.R. Resources, and have been making the payments on time for the last several months (they're automatically drawn from my bank account).
I just recieved a new letter from another debt company looking to collect 784.85 for the same university. What do I do? Seems like fraud to me, are they trying to trick me into paying multiple agencies so they get more money while simultaneously destroying my credit by added more and more accounts and draining my score? I know that if I call this new agency they'll claim "Well this is a different debt I guess you didn't know about" and give me a lot of trouble no matter how many times I tell them I've spoken to the school about it. Any information would be very helpful, dealing with debt collectors is exhausting and I'm trying really hard to get on track but I keep getting slammed with random things like this.
Thank you.
