I live in CT and I'm currently on probation as a sex offender. Sexual Assault in the 2nd Degree (a non-violent crime of consent but person was under the legal age by CT law).
I am interested in moving to and working in NYC. I have always loved NYC and I personally feel there would be more opportunity there for employment. Probation here in CT is really not as bad as one would think but that all depends on the attitude of each probation officer (I have had 5 probation officers in 3 yrs so far and have 7 more yrs left on probation). Here in CT you don't stay with the same P.O. for much more than a year before transferred to someone else.
My question is this: What are the GENERAL CONDITIONS of PROBATION for sex offenders in either the entire state of NY or in NYC (if they differ from town to town)? I cannot seem to find just a list of conditions anywhere. Granted the P.O. can add or subtract whatever conditions they feel fit, but just like I have a hard copy of the SEX OFFENDER CONDITIONS of PROBATION for State of CONNECTICUT, I would like to see one for New York. I don't want to bother making the move if probation in NY is going to be harder on me and NY P.O.'s are quick to violate a person for something petty that is trying to get his life together in a positive manner.
You may think you're doing everything right but a P.O. might decided to be a royal schmuck and ruin everything you've strived for. Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you.
