    Default Reduced Time

My question involves criminal law for the state of: south carolina

im going to court for shoplifting second and i know i am facing jail time. but i heard about south carolina having a law about if the crime was non-violent that for every 1 day served it counts as 2 for ur sentence. i was just curious as to if it was true and the official legalities of it.

You can look up South Carolina statutes here. If you go back to the place where you "heard" this information, consider asking for details - is this in fact a statute, the result of a court order, a local policy to reduce overcrowding, something else.... If it's a statute, it will be listed among the statutes, but I don't personally expect to find such a rule in the statutes.
