My question involves an eviction in the state of: Ohio
My boyfriend has been in my home for about a month attempting to get his life in order. I allowed him to stay here with myself and my children until he could get himself on his feet. He changed his address on his permit to drive to my home address and began using my address as his house address, without my consent. Long story short, After he destroyed a television and an entertainment center in my home and destroyed a coffee table, put holes in my walls and a few other destructive things, I called the police. The police showed up at my house and even though I told them that he does NOT live at my home he is only staying here until he can get on his feet, I was told that they could not remove him from my home or my property because he lives there. No matter how many times I told them he does NOT live here they told me that in Ohio he is considered to live in my home and even though he pays NO rent, there is NO lease agreement, his name is not on ANY bill, he has legal rights to be in my home AND because he lives there he can destroy anything he wants to in my home and that I have to go downtown to start the eviction process. I own my home outright along with my father.
Is this true?
