My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: FLORIDA I was riding my motorcycle around 8PM when it began over heating. I pulled over into a fire lane. An unmarked vehicle approached me, the person inside never identified themselves as a police officer no visible signs on them or on the vehicle that they are law enforcement. Person inside vehicle states that I am parked in a fire lane. I then explained the reason why and asked for the officers assistance to push the bike out of the lane. He states no, and explains that if he has to help me the motorcycle will be impounded and towed. After going back and forth several times i finally moved my motorcycle by pushing it, all 500 lbs to a parking space. He then issued me 2 citations one for being in a fire lane and the other for a misdemeanor for "failing to obey lawful order" My question is does he have the right to issue me 2 citations given the circustances (emergency) that i encountered? I always thought they were there to Protect and Serve. To me the safety of a motorist takes priority over where a vehicle or motorcycle is parked. Any help will greatly be appreciated.
