My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Illinois. Cook County.

Hello, I was given notice of judgement against me for 4,000 last month. I went to court and admitted to the debt and the creditor was given judgement. I was given a letter stating they will be putting a lien on my home for 4,000. Question is.. Can they make lien foreclose? Simple as turnin the Lien and foreclose to get money?

My home is paid off... worth 90,000 in the market. Unfortunately have been out of work since last year, not able to get a loan off of the real estate..... was laid off. They simply would not take less than the 4000 via settlements.

Here is a quick view of my situation:

Income= Unemployment. No other income. This is exempt from Garnish. Also... I have a car that I still owe 6,500... however it is worth 14,000. Any chance of them taking the car? There is equity however they need to pay finance company first, right? Then they get nothing.

I am concerned with the lien. It is paid off... however there is a property taxes lien from last year on the home for 4,100. Would they need to pay the lien off first then get their 4,000? and do you think.. eventhough there is alot of equity, that they will foreclose , pay the 4,100 lien to get their 4,000.

I was told by the lawyer if I dont pay in 30 days they will request foreclosure. If they do, Do I move out right away?

I am in a bad shape... I have a spouse and 4 kids... dont know what to do if we are kicked out.

I want to say thanks so much in advance

Anthony
