I filed a race discrimination charge against my company in July. The company responded immediately stating they wanted to mediate. The EEOC stated I submitted enough information with my fact finding interview to warrant an investigation of my claims.
I continue to be harassed by members of managment. Should I file with my company first or go back directly through the EEO department?
Do companies normally mediate quickly? I am asking this because I tried resolving this matter with my employer for eight months to no avail. The employer admitted wrongdoing happened several months ago; however, nothing was ever done to correct the wrongdoing which is why I filed the race discrimination charge.
Thanks for any insight and personal stories about mediation. This could be a very stressful thing.
