Default My Company is in New York, but I Live in Florida

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: New York OR Florida

I have worked for my company for 3 years, I moved from NY to Florida in October of 2010, I was working remotely until now and I qualify for unemployment. I have worked from my home in Florida since December of 2010.
Should I file in the state of NY or Florida?

I heard if I lived in another state within 18 months that I can file through NY (which I'd prefer because I would receive more $ each week).

    Please advise.

As far as I know, you file in the state where you lived and worked, which would be Florida.

You might want to ask this question of the UI office. Given the economic state of most states today (no pun intended) if Florida sees a valid reason to have your benefits come out of NY instead, you may be sure they will let you know.
