    Default Getting a Visa With a Criminal Charge Pending in Nation of Origin

    Hi
    I am planning to apply for my F-1 visa in dis october.But, i have a pending case against me in the court in Hyderabad(india). I was charged for sexual assault and misdemeanor. Does it affect my F-1 visa??. The plaintiff has agreed to withdraw the case against me nxt month.so, does dat show any criminal background on my record??..plz do help me!!

    You must answer truthfully all questions on US immigration forms. Based on your history, I suggest that you consult a US immigration attorney who is also licensed in or familiar with Indian laws for an accurate assessment of the issues you might face. After all, you still have a criminal case filed against you.
