    Question Domestic Violence Conviction

4 years ago i was arrested for domestic violence. I got into a fight with my boyfriend and he locked me out of the house and called the police. when they got there, i looked like a mad woman banging on the door and yelling at him to let me in ( liquor ). Anyway, I pleaded no contest and was given 6 mos. probation, had to attend anger management classes, and was told that the charge would be thrown out if I successfully completed the probation ( which I did).
This is the only trouble i've had with the law.

My question is: will this show up on a backgroung check? I am an allied health student and will start my program in the spring of next year. Admission to the program includes a background check that will preclude admission. I'm at the top of my class and an officer in the honor socety. This is the only thing that will prevent me from graduating.

    Any answers??

If the agreement was that the charge would be dismissed upon your successful completion of probation, and you successfully completed probation, you shouldn't have a conviction. In a small number of cases there is a mistake by the court and the record is incorrect, so you may wish to verify that your record is correct. A full background check may also show any arrest, and the original charge, as well as the disposition (while reflecting that it was not a conviction) - that will vary by state.
