My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
I had all of my probation requirements completed before my due date. However, I did not realize that I had to have the paperwork recorded at the probation office before this date. When I went to the office to turn in the paperwork and request a travel permit, my officer informed me that she had issued a warrant and a violation of probation because I did not have the paperwork stamped on time. I had to cancel a family vacation because she would not approve a travel form and basically said that I had the paperwork and and should have known. However, the paperwork said it must be completed by that date ( which it was, just not turned in). She said that she would write a letter to the judge requesting that the violation be cancelled, but I have not heard from her nor have I been able to contact her for the past 4 days now. I looked online and the warrant is still standing. What are the aspects of a warrant for violation of probation? If I go to the courthouse to try to get information, are they going to arrest me? I feel like she could have called me on the day papers were do since I have to pay for cost of supervision. If I hadnt gone in to get a travel request, I would have had no idea a warrant was issued.
