Default Statute of Limitations in State of Residence Longer Than the One in Which Contract

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Massachusetts

I took out a loan in a state with a SOL of 3 years. I haven't repaid it. Now, 5 and a half years after I defaulted, I am being sued in Massachusetts, which has a SOL of 6 years. Can I say that since the SOL has kicked in in my state of origin, a lawsuit can no longer be brought against me? (I am planning on repaying this, I just don't want the judgment to go on my credit report.)

You haven't given us any indication of where you lived when the cause of action accrued. So how about sharing that detail?

You say "my state" - meaning you do not live, and have never lived, in Massachusetts? Or what?
