My question involves traffic court in the State of: Washington
I would like some help with forming a defense for a speeding ticket that I received...
I applied for discovery, and received the officer’s sworn statement and a copy of the ticket. I requested the smd information and was told that since I was paced that they would not give me that information. I had to go to the state patrol in order to request the speedometer certification for the vehicle that was used to pace me, and I have not received that yet. I did apply for the discovery and the certification on the same day. So I’m hoping that it will arrive before my trial.
Does any one have an info on how to defend against a pacing ticket?
Is 1/4 mile enough time/distance to accurately determine a cars speed during pacing?
