I am an F1 student in Los Angeles, CA without the actual visa stamped in my passport since I changed b1 to f1.
currently I'm enrolled at a school. But I intend to fly to France (not my home country) for 1 week and come back to the U.S.
I went to the French consulate. they refused me a French visa because I didn't have my American F1 stamped.
How can i facilitate this return trip without having to go back to my country and have the F1 stamped in my passport?
An immigration officer told me that I could go to Canada or Mexico and have the visa stamped at the respective American consulates. But what's the probability that the they will. Is it hit or miss?
I'll appreciate detailed information on the problem or any advice.
THANKS
