    Unhappy Emancipation Help In Ohio

My girlfriend and I have beed seeing each other for a while now. Only problem is that her mom frequently gets drunk and hates me. She knows about me and doesn't care that we see eachother. But every now and then she'll get drunk and do something uncalled for like involving the police. She's 16. We just can't put up with this anymore. How can she get free? Her mom isn't letting us see each other or talk. Eventually she will again. But this is just messing with her emotions and her head. It's not fair. She has an open case right now. But, that isn't until April. It's from her dad snapping and trying to kill her mom, her, and her sister. They were all beaten and had to hide in hotels. With that and her mom's alcohol abuse the has to be something that can be done right? She has a job, a license, a car, and she's enrolled in a school. HELP US PLEASE!

    How old are you?

Where does this girl have a full-time job and how long has she had it?

I can see why the mother has concerns....

Ohio doesn't have statutes that address emancipation, other than a minor marrying or joining the armed services, the minor is under parental control until the age of 18.

Okay, I'm not trying to be rude, but if a 16 y/o and a 23 y/o can't search on how to get married, then maybe they shouldn't be getting married! But here goes:
If you are 18 to 21 years of age, you will need to show your birth certificate. Persons aged 16-17 must have consent to marry from parents or legal guardians and may have to contact the Probate Court. Additionally, the Judge may require the minors to state that they have received marriage counseling that is satisfactory to the court.

You would need your parents permission. I also will add that 16 is quite young to enter into a committment such as this. Wanting to get out of a bad family situation is not a good reason to get married. It appears that counseling would be a good idea.

Okay, so she's 16, and she's already got 2 ex's? Really, this is why she is too young to make such a decision, and why states don't make emancipation easy. She needs her parent's permission to marry.
