My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: IL
My employer did not garnish my wages as directed by the state therefore a garnishment was made against the company. As a result of this I was fired, I filed for unemployment but was denied due to misconduct. Per my employer another co-worker told him she handed me the garnishment paperwork she got via fax and I failed to process it, which is not true but since i processed payroll he assumed me guilty but the only proof he has is her word and not anything else. I filed an appeal but wanted to know if hearsay is allowed in an unemployment hearing and what else can I do to prove I was not aware of the garnishment. Thank you for your help
