    Default G4 Visa

    Hi:
I currently have an f1 visa.My OPT expired in July 21st and I know the US government gives me a grace period of 60 days to leave the country. I have been offer a job in an international organisation to start in 15 days for which I need to get a g4 visa.
In the application for a visa there is a question about your family.
    My mother is a citizen
    my father is a resident
and both of my sistes are here.
Is this going to affect me of getting a visa?
Also, my mother has apply for me to get my residency. Is saying so going to affect me of getting a g4 visa?
I am a citizen from Peru. Can I go closer that Peru to get a g4 visa?
    Thank you
    Joanna

You should seek to maintain your status, such that you have a visa which permits your continued stay at the conclusion of your grace period. Recall that your grace period runs from the earlier of the course completion or OPT end date.

I don't think that your G-4 status would affect your ability to seek family-based immigration, but if you have any diplomatic immunity through your G-4 job I believe it would terminate upon your becoming a permanent resident.

My student visa expired in 2003, but I have remained legal in the US by transferring to school and having my current I20. I requested a visa to Mexico to get my G4 visa, but I was denied since the embassy of Mexico required my student visa to be current. Can I leave the US with my Peruvian passport, get into Mexico with my Italian passport and have my g4 stamped in the peruvian passport?
Is there any option for me to adjust my status in the US without leaving the country?
