My question involves child support in the State of: CA
My question is…
I am the CP. The NCP lives in San Francisco County. My son and I live in Orange County. NCP is backed up on Child Support. NCP has never paid Child Support in full. Only partial payments were garnished from his checks starting July 2010, it ended when he was fired/laid off in Dec 2010. The total of Child support that my son has received only came up to the total of how much he is really suppose to be paying which is $200/month. All payments, except for one ¸was less than $50. The other was for $54.
I learned that NCP owns property in San Francisco. He is now a homeowner and owns a car. I am sure that his DL has already been suspended. But, what is the process of putting a lien on his property? Could the CA DCSS put a lien on his property? Could I go to court to order a lien on his property? Does it matter that we live in different counties? Please help.
Thank you.
