Default Falsely Accused by Scorned Woman

My question involves defamation in the state of: My husband had an extramarital affair that was a one night stand with a fellow army officer who was higher ranking. When he told her that it never should of happened she stalked him and threatend him. Three weeks later she stated was pregnant and asked for money for an abortion. I found out three days after her supposed abortion and she gave the money back. She didnt know but we found out she fabricated the whole pregnancy and abortion. When my husband refused to talk to her, She made up a false sonogram and spelled the hospital wrong. On her final day as a reservist she told a another coworker her abortion failed and was originally pregnant with twins and one survived which launched a military investigation. In her complaints, she stated that I had vandalized her home by writing Whore on the garage door repeatedly, Said the cops failed to write reports and the insurance covered it. She said I was captured on a neighbors security cam but refused to show proof. I was home all day and can prove it. She wrote on an official document that I damage her house. I called the precinct in her area and they told me that they would even have the records officer write a statement that they were never called to that home for anything. She was trying to discredit me as a person and Lied during an official investigation. There are two different documents of her falsely accusing me. What are my options? People think Iam uncontrollable now. I remained calm and never did anything during this. I thought hurting her or harming her would never benefit me.

If you want to try to sue her for defamation, you can certainly consider retaining a lawyer to do so. As you were told when you posted, laws vary by state, so you can ask your lawyer to review your case under the applicable state laws. Note that the publicity from a defamation lawsuit can actually spread the false allegations even more widely.
