Default Disorderly Conduct in Rhode Island

My question involves criminal law for the state of: RI

I don't know how to plead my misorderly conduct charge. I was arrested in a slot parlor for basicly asking what my bar tab was and why. The only responce I got was you had that drink, and gave me no receipt. The next thing was a security gaurd asked if I had a problem, and I just looked at the bartender and said are you kidding me, then before I knew he was pushing me out the door with my arm behind my back, I asked the to let go he was hurting me and said I would walk out with no problems. So him pulled up even harder at that time I basicly tripped and shoved him away, then I knew what was coming after that so I just stood there and never resisted, I was subdued thrown into the police car with a bloodly nose and a few lumps and my money was stolen, when my wife picked me up at the police station, she asked who hit me and they said security. I realy can't afford an attorny. I've neve had a criminal record before. I'm in my Fifties and feel completly embarrassed and violated

well, obviously we have your side of the story but especially because of that, there are a few things that seem to be a problem.

The only responce I got was you had that drink, and gave me no receipt.
so, did you pay? what happened?

The next thing was a security gaurd asked if I had a problem, and I just looked at the bartender and said are you kidding me,
that sounds like there was some sort of dispute and you simply didn't believe it warranted the bouncer bouncing you.

So him pulled up even harder at that time I basicly tripped and shoved him away,
how do you trip and shove somebody away in the same motion? If you trip, you fall forward and with your arm behind your back, I'm just not seeing an ability to shove the guy.

then I knew what was coming after that so I just stood there and never resisted,
if you shoved the guy, you had already resisted.

if you cannot afford an attorney, you can apply for a public defender.

You should plead not guilty and ask for a PD and go from there.

The bill was paid, and was disputing the bill for what I was being charged, was more than I drank, they charged my card on file, as far as falling foward or tripping, the only way I can it explain it, when he tried to pulll up he lost his grip, I was only trying to protect myself from being hurt. I believe I won't qualify for a PD. As far as resisted do you mean being arrested or escorted out of the building

To being escorted out of the building. By shoving the guy, you resisted. You may not have further resisted, but the damage was done with the shove.
