Default NYC Bus Lane Violation for 2 Straight Weeks

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: New York City (Manhattan)

We dropped someone off on a block in Manhattan every weekday at around 7:30am for about 2 straight weeks. The block was adjacent to a bus lane so we stopped temporarily in the bus lane for at most 5 seconds to drop this person off. You are not allowed to enter the bus lane from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

    1. We were unaware of this law.

    2. We did not know we were being photographed for the duration of the time we stopped there.

    3. We just received a fine in the mail yesterday, the July 12, regarding the traffic offense, which was committed a month ago, June 13.

Had we known about the time constraints, the camera, and/or the fine earlier, we would have definitely stopped entering the lane. We have since stopped (since July 5), but now will undoubtedly receive multiple traffic violation fines ($115) for the same offense everyday for about 2 weeks.

Is there anything we can do to appeal the traffic violations except for the first one? We can't really afford to pay off that hefty of a fine.

    Link to the violated code:

Any help or advice is appreciated

    Thanks

    never an excuse.

    Okay.

Sometimes, the wheels of justice turn slowly.

    Certainly a possibility.

You can go to court for the first one, bring all the others and throw yourself upon the mercy of the court.

This is not guaranteed... but you may prevail.

    Thanks.

You really don't have a great deal of options. You go and beg for leniency.

How lenient do you think they will be? We haven't been stopped for many tickets, maybe 3 in the past 10 years.

We can't predict the future... there are simply too many variables.
