    Default Guardianship to My Sister

My question involves guardianship in the State of: California

Hi guys, I am a minor (17 YO) going 18 next month. I need help with my CA residency for my school stuff. Since I am a minor, i will be either using my parents/guardians information to show that I am a CA residence. and yes i have been living here kinda long.

So i went to the admissions office today to see whether i can successfully be stated as a CA residence. So i used my sister's stuff (DL, water bill, electricity, rent, car reg, blah blah blah ( I have almost all the stuff stated on the CA residency form) ).They rejected it. They said that my sister doesnt have guardianship on me. I was like wtf.. shouldnt my sister (23 YO) be my naturally a guardian to me since she and me is like siblings? (Don't shoot me if i'm wrong, im no law student)

So i asked her what can i do to convince that my sister is my guardian. Whether it is paperwork, parents signature, parents ssn, passport, or what. So she said go to court.. I said what other stuff that i can use. She cant answer. -.- So i went out

So now i seek this hopefully helpful WEB for answers. What can i do? What paperwork can i get? (No money to go to court, hire a lawyer, or expensive filing fee btw). Please help and advice.

    Cordially,
    Sam

No, your sister is not your guardian. Your sister would need to file in court to obtain guardianship of you. Ask your parents if they'll sign over POA (power of attorney) to your sister - that might be enough. But that too will need to be notarized, etc.

Is there any other way other then going to court. Because we are so financially constricted right now. Or does POA doesn't require $$ ( i believe it does). Oh ya, this is not a guardianship question but im gonna ask anyway... So my father is directed by the company to in TX for about a year or two already. So in the FED income tax (form 1040) i think my father put down the address he is living in TX now, So i was wondering if my school admin will look at his FED tax and see consider him being a TX resident or something.. (pardon my ignorance)

Adding to the crisis, I lost my wallet with my CA Drivers licence last weekend. I just filed it to the DMV and requested a new DL. However, the school require information that are 1year and 1 day before the start of school (fall semester 2011), mine starts on AUG 12. So what should i do..

    AHhhhhh, headache..
