    Default Harassment of a Girlfriend

Hi, have an interesting situation going on in my life right now. To make things simple my mom and my girlfriend don't get along AT ALL. My mom has never resorted to violence of any kind in this matter but she has left over 50 messages in the last month or so. My girlfriend got so fed up that she filed criminal charges against my mom for harassment. I know this entails my mom going to court and the possibility of her being convicted and charged, an uncomfortable position for me to say the least. My question is whether there is an alternative for my girlfriend, through the legal system or not, that wouldn't be so severe as to require court, but would prevent my mother from calling/ harassing her. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm kind of at a loss here. Thanks

Your girlfriend has already taken the matter to court. She can try to speak with the prosecutor handling the case if she now wants a resolution that doesn't involve convicting your mother of a crime.

If she drops the case, is there a another way of going about this that doesn't involve court? Maybe a citation of some kind?

Your mother could agree to stop calling her.

lol, I know. My girlfriend just wants to know that if she does indeed drop the case, she will have some kind of recourse if the calls start again. From what I understand you can't file the same complaint again against someone if you drop a previous case? Thanks for the responses

Why doesn't your girlfriend change her telephone number?

Sorry it's been so long between posts, but the case is now coming up in less than two weeks. Could someone please fill me in on what I should expect the day of the trial, procedure wise? I know my mom plans on pleading not guilty, so I am curious as to how a criminal complaint would be processed in that instance. Will there be people called to testify or will the judge keep it between the two individuals since it's only a complaint? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
