Default Marrying a Foreigner with a F1 Student Visa Expiring in December

    hello,

my fiance and i intend to marry in late november of this year. her student visa of 5 years expires in december. do i need to register the marriage now? because she is getting married in november, does she get an additional grace period for getting the green card? i am worried because if she gets married in november and then applies for a green card it will be too late since i heard the green card takes at most 6 months to receive. should she file an ibt to work hereto be on the safe side? do i need an immigration attorney or is my situation not that complicated? thanks.

You cannot adjust your status based on marriage until after you marry.
