Default I Plead to Someone Elses Case Number

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado

I did three and half years in prison. I was arrested in 2005 but years later after reviewing my paperwork I see that they tricked me into signing some other guys case number, or maybe a fictions number.

Here is an example of a Colorado case number

    06CR63 - 06 stands for 2006 63 march 6th - that is the date of the arrest.

My case number on my plea that I signed is from 1 year 2 months before my arrest. I was living and working in an entirely different part of the country at that time and I can prove it.

    Whats my next step?

ps I sat in county jail for 122 days with my lawyer telling me I was going away for 60 years minimum because of a special offenders charge. He said the DA is especially hard on drug offenders even first timers with clean records (me) My mom paid him over 10 grand. He said the piece of paper I was signing would get me 45 days in drug treatment. Instead it got me 3 and 1/2 years, I was sexually assaulted, my jaw clicks when I talk now, I have broken teeth and I break out in nervous sweats often and I'm pretty much uncomfortable in my own skin now.

I don't think that it's that cut and dry. Your case number has more elements to it than that. If that is all your number consitsted of, that would mean that you were the only person that had a court date in your county. Impossible. You need to investigate more thoroughly before you can say that you served someone else's sentence.

In a typical case numbering system you have the year (06), the case code - type of case (CR), followed by the unique case number - the case number is normally assigned sequentially, such that "63" would not reflect a date but would reflect your being the 63rd case filed in that particular court during that particular year.
